Self-Paced Professional Learning Available This Fall

The Department of Technology & Innovation will be offering a variety of professional development opportunities throughout the school year. Staff are invited to participate in these on-demand learning sessions. Sessions are offered once per semester in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. Please visit the Digital Learning Hub to learn more about the courses being offered this fall. Professional Development Hours are available for completing this training. Participants in each course will meet via Zoom once at the beginning of the course and once at the end. All of the learning can be completed online at your convenience. 

Apple Learning
Meeting Dates: September 15, 2021 and November 17, 2021

Apple Workflow for Educators (3 Hours)
Begin your Apple Teacher journey by exploring 120 skill-building tutorials that make it easy to use iPad and Mac and Apple apps like Pages, Keynote, Numbers, GarageBand, and iMovie for teaching and learning.

Apple Teacher Certification (3 Hours)
Once you have a foundational grasp of Apple devices, its time to earn your Apple Teacher designation. Learn and earn badges for Mac, iPad, Swift Coding, or Lesson Integration. This course can be taken up to four times.

Apple Teacher Portfolio (6 Hours)
Apple Teacher Portfolio is for teachers who have already earned their Apple Teacher designation. Participants will learn from example lessons and templates to get new ideas for creating their own collection of creative and powerful lessons. The completed portfolio of original lessons can be shared with fellow teachers and administrators.

Everyone Can Create: Jumpstart (6 Hours)
The Everyone Can Create collection of guides is designed to foster creative expression in each of your students through drawing, video, photography, and music with iPad. The Jumpstart course introduces participants to all four areas with an emphasis on integrating ideas into future lessons.

Everyone Can Create: Deep Dive (6 Hours)
The Everyone Can Create collection of guides is designed to foster creative expression in each of your students through drawing, video, photography, and music with iPad. The Deep Dive course immerses participants in one of the four areas to develop expertise in a given area of creative expression.

Google for Education
Meeting Dates: September 14, 2021 and November 16, 2021

Google for Education: Fundamentals (12 hours)
Jump right into the basics with lessons and a progressive set of tips designed to help educators make the most of Google’s classroom technology. By completing Fundamentals, you’ll be ready to take the Educator Level 1 Certification exam.

Google for Education: Advanced (12 Hours)
Move beyond fundamentals with advanced lessons and cutting-edge strategies for integrating Google in your classroom. By completing Fundamentals and Advanced, you’ll be ready to take the Educator Level 2 Certification exam.

Google for Education: Learner Engagement (3 Hours)
Unlock unlimited creative learning opportunities whether students are in person or remote. Go beyond the walls of your classroom and learn how digital tools can support creativity, promote students’ voice, and increase engagement.

Google Level 1 Educator Certification Exam (3 Hours)
Demonstrate your mastery of Google tools in your classroom with the Educator Level 1 Certification. Completing the certification earns you a badge that helps you stand out on your resume, portfolio, website, and more.

Google Level 2 Educator Certification Exam (3 Hours)
Validate your expertise and advanced technology integration skills with the Educator Level 2 Certification. Completing the certification earns you a badge that helps you stand out on your resume, portfolio, website, and more.
